The Vein Institute of Imperial Valley was opened in 2007, and was formed to exclusively
treat patients with venous disorders primarily of the legs, which include varicose veins,
swollen aching legs, cellulitis, and related venous skin ulcers, as well as spider veins.
The Vein Institute is located on the campus of the Vascular Medical Center of Imperial County and
Dr's Goodman, Baradarian, and PA Gottesfeld are all affiliated with Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego, California.
We are open Monday through Friday for Venous Scans and provide surgical services on Saturday for your convenience.

Allan Goodman, MD
Dr. Goodman has been practicing Cardiac, Vascular, and Thoracic Surgery in the San Diego
and Imperial Counties for over 30 years. Dr. Goodman completed his medical training at The
University of Chicago and his surgical training at Stanford University He is a Fellow of the
American College of Surgeons and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons. He has been a leader
in the cardiovascular surgical field and has been instrumental in bringing new and exciting
technologies to the San Diego and Imperial Counties. Dr. Goodman is also the medical director
of the Vascular Center of Imperial County, as well as medical director of the Vein Center.
Sam Baradarian, MD
Dr. Baradarian, a graduated New York University in 1988, and completed his medical training
at The State University of New York at Stonybrook in 1992.He then completed his general and
cardiothoracic and vascular surgical training at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New York
City. He has been a practicing Cardiac, Vascular, Thoracic, and Cardiac Transplant surgery in
San Diego, since 1999. Dr. Baradarian is a local leader in the use of minimally invasive techniques
including the use of thorascopy and robotic assisted heart surgery, as well as the Surgical Director
of the Lung Cancer Center at Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego.
Steven M. Gottesfeld, PA-C
PA Gottesfeld completed his medical and surgical training at Touro College School of Health Sciences
in New York City in 1991.He then completed his Cardiac Surgical training at Winthrop University Hospital
in Minneola, New York, in 1992. He has practiced Cardiac, Vascular, Thoracic, and Cardiac Transplant
Surgery since 1992. PA Gottesfeld has intimate knowledge of the superficial veins of the lower extremity,
as he has harvested over 2,000 veins for use as coronary bypass grafts and has been a leader in the use
of minimally invasive techniques to harvest greater and lesser saphenous veins. PA Gottesfeld currently
practices Cardiac, Vascular, and Thoracic Surgery at Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego.
Adolph E. Prieto, RVT
A graduate of Grossmont College, Adolph has been a registered ultrasound technician since 1995. Adolph has
specialized in vascular ultrasound and has been working in El Centro and San Diego for the last 10 years.
